Washington DC to Singapore
Getting to South East Asia started with a bit of a hiccup as we learned at midnight the night before that the first leg of our flight had been canceled and snow was expected. 2 hours of phone calls later we were able to get an even earlier flight to Chicago and make the rest of the trip. We had only more peice of excitment on the Hong Kong to Singapore leg when someone screamed for a doctor, I went running but it turned out to be nothing more than nurvous parents. We got to Singapore at midnight singapore time and checked in to the hotel. We didnt have to be at the boat till 2pm so we set off in search of a singapore breakfast. Not much was open. We quickly learned that Singapore opens late and stays up later. When we found a place to eat, however the menu was not what we expected it was all Dim Sum which we enjoy but wouldnt think of as breakfast. The food however was good and provided us fuel to spend the rest of the day wandering around Singapores china town where we visited a buddist temple and a hindu temple then it was off to the boat.
